Nov 22. Got up around 6:30 and got off to see the ruins of Pachacamac

, 30 km south of Lima. Had a good time picking sherds and cloth from debris near road through the ruins. Then went to Parque de las Leyendas

to eat lunch and walk through jungle part. The former was scant, the latter very good. The island with animals, birds, and huts is especially good. From there we went to the Archeological Museum which lived up to its fame. The pre-Inca work is fantastic, especially the embroidery of the [Pancos]. Liked the model of Machu Picchu

. Arrived home late and tired--too late to have our Thanksgiving supper together as we had thought. I had a call from LAB, so went to the airport to pay for tickets. After some packing, got to bed--after 11:00 p.m.

Nov 23. Ruth, Pat and 3 kids left by plane at        a.m.. We returned to house and packed things for the trip on Thursday.
